Fused Glass Workshop

Get creative and have fun designing and making your own fused glass pieces. No experience necessary, all glass and equipment supplied. Create beautiful fused glass pieces with Doug.

This Fused Glass workshop is suitable for beginners or returning makers, you do not need to have had any previous experience to have some fun creating your own works of glass art. The workshop is for 3 hours and has a maximum of 4 people. There is no set design of glass to make, wherever possible you will be able to make items to your own design. During the workshop you will use glass sheets, crushed glass (frit), strands of glass (stringers) and small pieces of glass to make up to 3 items of the following design forms;

 

Glass candle arc or wave

Handkerchief shaped tealight holder

Mounted piece with glass tealight holder

Mounted piece with wooden base

Coaster

Hanging item

Greetings card piece x 2

 

Time permitting, any additional pieces maybe made at an additional cost of up to £10.00 per item depending on the amount of glass used.  The cost includes all of the materials and firings in the kiln, your completed work will be ready for collection in approximately 10/14 days and you will be advised by email when ready. 

 

We will not be making any specific design of item, it will be up to yourselves to decide what you would like to produce at the workshop. I will also be bringing several finished samples for you to look at as a guide only. If you have any specific designs you would like to make, please let me know via Carousel and I will try if possible to make sure that I have the necessary glass available.

During the course you will have the chance to try glass cutting if you would like to do this, if not I will have prepared base blanks for you to use. There will be safety glasses, aprons and any other necessary safety items available.

The workshops are suitable for ages of 15 and above (under 18's to be accompanied by a participating adult) and no previous experience of glass working is required. Please wear enclosed footwear and suitable clothing.

The total cost of the 3 hour workshop is £55.00 per person and £10.00 non-refundable deposit per person is required to secure your place, the balance is due on the day by cash or card.
